We are seeking a H&S Specialist who will contribute to the implementation of our Zero Injury culture and mandate by providing and analyzing statistical data and support services to the EH&S team, management / supervision and to all associates.  An emphasis will be placed on compliance in the areas of Safe Work Procedures, Training, Hygiene, Auditing and record keeping.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Proactively support the production floor on H&S issues and promote a safety culture

  • Promote and support improvements/awareness of hazards with shop floor associates and management/supervision

  • Develop safe work procedures by following thorough Job Hazard Analysis protocols

  • Facilitate and ensure that legal responsibility for hearing conservation is maintained

  • Compile and maintain a complete data base of all Heath and Safety metrics including daily incident logging and monthly reporting

  • Work with production supervisors to verify training on Safe Work Practices has been completed

  • Conduct noise mapping and sound readings throughout the plant

  • Support the development and delivery of training initiatives in legislative compliance, safe work procedures and incident investigation

  • Attend departmental and plant wide safety committee meetings

  • Communications responsibilities include updating safety boards, developing associate and supervisory communication material and creating Safety Talks and Safety Alerts


 

Selection Criteria:

  • Occupational Health and Safety Certificate from a University or Community College

  • Minimum 5 years of Health & Safety experience preferably in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience in developing and delivering training

  • High level of proficiency in advanced software and data management applications
