NETWORK SUPPORT SPECIALIST LEVEL 2
Description of Project or Company/Organization:
- The Department of National Defence (DND) intends to reallocate military Information Technology (IT) personnel from bases, garrisons and wings to field and deployable units to improve their availability for employment on higher priority operational tasks. To continue providing IT support, DND has a requirement for ongoing IT professional services on a contract basis.
Job Description:
- The Network Support Specialist’s duties include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate installation, operation, maintenance, resolution of network hardware and software problems, traffic monitoring, capacity planning, system backup and user training for a Local Area Network;
- Maintain interface with vendor representatives and other computing resources to resolve hardware and software problems;
- Configure equipment with assistance from vendor or other computing resources; and
- Maintain accurate records and logs of users, equipment serial numbers, service records, maintenance agreements, warranties, wiring schemes and network incidents, problems and solutions.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Minimum five (5) years experience as a Network Support Specialist working in a networked environment;
- A valid CISCO Certified Network Associate certification (CCNA);
- Additional CISCO courses or exams taken within the past five (5) years;
