Our client has a requirement for Systems Analyst for a perm opportunity. The positions are located in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Requirements or Qualifications
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Proven experience in Enterprise Analysis
Ability to lead and coordinate delivery of systems analyst teams which includes defining a vision and coaching to influence individuals towards that vision
Ability to provide leadership and consultative services to Senior Management (IS and Business)
Experience working as a senior Systems Analyst on complex, strategic assignments with significant budget, effort, and business impact.
Ability to apply critical thinking skills which includes analyzing and evaluating information and situations, problem solving, decision making, and conceptualizing
Ability to work as part of a virtual team
Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills that rely on a structured approach to problem solving
Functional systems analysis & design
Logical Data Modeling
UML
Requirements management
Strong knowledge of Use Cases and Use Case modeling
Solid understanding of I.S. methodologies, process and practices
Strong written and verbal communication
Strong understanding of technology /information systems
Effective planning and organizational skills
Effective internal consulting skills with a strong customer service orientation
Strong facilitation skills
Desirable:
Business Process modeling
Rational Unified Process (RUP)
Nice to have: knowledge and experience in applying IBM's IAA (Insurance Application Architecture)
Nice to have: insurance and financial services industry knowledge
Level of expertise required:
Minimum 5 to 8 years experience in business/systems analysis
Degree in related discipline (Commerce/Management Information Systems, Business Administration, etc.)
Good understanding of business principles and experience with a broad range of different types of business functions;
Communicates in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbal, that is appropriate for the audience;
Good interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment;
Ability to adapt to change and perform
Key Accountabilities:
You will maintain a "business perspective" through all phases of the problem resolution and systems enhancement. You will work closely with your Business Partners to understand their business needs, opportunities and requirements. Working in a team environment, you will be responsible for:
Defining and maintaining business architecture through conceptual business models
Defining business problems/opportunities, providing clear definition and performing benefit analysis
Performing business and systems analysis and design, articulating the logical design alternatives and recommending appropriate solutions
Performing functional analysis and design, defining and documenting detailed business requirements and leading the usability perspective of the project
Working with quality assurance team members to ensure adequate testing, and that the system meets business expectations
Contributing to training strategies and business implementation planning
Providing leadership to business partners and team members
