GEOX Assistant Manager Job Description

 

Position Objective: To thrill our customers and maximize sales by consistently delivering customer service and high retail standards using outlined policies and procedures.

To support the management team through the effective management of the sales floor.

 

 

Customer Service

Delivers a high level of customer service to all customers at all times to exceed sales targets and grow the GEOX brand in Canada.
  • Maintains selling and service in the store as a priority including internal customers (ie:other company employees).

  • Considers the needs of the customer firstly and at all times, following GEOX service values.

  • With Store Manager seeks ways to achieve and exceed sales targets.

  • Carries out the Five Steps of Selling as laid out by the company and leads by example in all aspects of service.

  • Exhibits a friendly, open and honest approach and willingness to help—encourages this behaviour with the rest of the sales team.

  • Ensures own and team's understanding of sales targets to be achieved.

  • Ensures all promotional offers are communicated to customers 100% of the time.

  • Upholds company policy on refunds and exchanges, consulting with the manager when good will is needed.

  • Supports the management team in all elements of the season launch and SALE set up.

  • Ensures all associates consistently follows company policy on all elements of the dress code—portraying a positive image at all times

  • Acts in a professional manner with customers, managers and colleagues at all times.

  • Regularly assesses levels of customer service and sales on the floor and takes action accordingly.

  •  

    Budget and Cost Control

    Follows correct procedures to keep within agreed budgets as they are set by the company.
  • Ensures staffing budgets are used effectively to achieve and exceed sales targets within wage budget.

  • Makes timely and appropriate decisions on use of on call staff and

  • Adheres to all cost budgets set and delivers all proof of expenses on time.

  •  

    Administration

    Completes all personal administration tasks correctly on time with 100% accuracy.
  • Completes all store administration to company procedures 100% of time including but not limited to clock in/out, receiving product shipments (movements), sales reports, cash and POS procedures as well as personal KPI forms.

  • Ensures store administration is completed, according to policy on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

  • Ensures correct POS policies and procedures are followed by self and team to 100% accuracy.

  • Assists in auditing own store's administration and helps resolve issues.

  • Supports own store in any changes in administration procedure positively and effectively.

  • Follows correct till procedures with 100% accuracy.

  •  

    Stock Presentation

    Maintains display and visual merchandising procedures in order to maximize sales and protect the GEOX brand.
  • Uses store directives to ensure the store and displays are merchandised according to company guidelines.

  • Ensures a high standard of visual merchandising amongst the team.

  • Ensures the team maintains stock presentation standards through effective replenishment at all times.

  • Effectively communicates any changes in stock or store layout to all members of the team.

  • Ensure a high level of housekeeping is  maintained in the store at all times.

  • Monitors stock performance in conjunction with SM, making changes with appropriate.

  •  

    Recruitment and Selection

    Assists SM in planning and managing recruitment needs effectively, ensuring company procedures are followed.
  • Use effective questioning in order to identify skills in a prospective employee.

  • Positively sells the company and portrays the company image at all times when recruiting.

  • Follows correct procedure when accepting resumes and conducting phone screening.

  • Supports the SM in achieving an acceptable level of turnover within the team.

  •  

    Training and Development

    Strives for continuous personal development and assists SM in managing team development in order to meet business needs.
  • Takes responsibility for own development by completing all training assignments successfully and on time.

  • Regularly reviews team and own performance against job profile.

  • Supports and assists with regular training to encourage development in others.

  • Encourages learning through experience.

  • Supports SM while encouraging individuals to take responsibility for own development.

  •  

    Performance Management

    Maintains and manages the team to maximize performance and achieve business goals.
  • Ensures a high level of personal presentation by following policies set by the company.

  • Ensures retail standards are maintained at all times.

  • Remains consistently fair with all staff at all times.

  • Quickly identifies good performance and poor performance and creates action plans according to the SM.

  • Gives immediate and timely feedback to all sales associates when non-negotiable policies are not met.

  • Immediately documents all policy and procedure breeches for HR files.

  •  

    Loss Prevention and Security

    Maintain store security, ensuring all company polices are adhered to 100% of the time and maintains a high loss prevention awareness.
  • Has a full working knowledge of security policies and procedures.

  • Complies with security and loss prevention procedures and techniques at all times.

  • Maintains a high level of security and loss prevention awareness.

  •  

    Health and Safety

    Maintains a safe working environment for customers and employees, ensuring the adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Identifies any health and safety concerns or threats to managers immediately and proceeds with action in a timely manner.

  • Acts appropriately in the event of fire or emergency situations.

  • Identifies any maintenance issues in the store and takes prompt action.

  •  

    WORKING CONDITIONS: Physical requirements include standing and walking within the store for 100% of the work schedule; frequent, but not continuous, light to medium effort to unpack and prepare merchandise which may require working with freight boxes weighing up to 22 kilograms.
