PAY: $32.00/hr + $0.30/hr night shift premium

SHIFTS: 6:00 to 6:00 continental day / night rotation
Rotation as follows:
(4 on / 3 off / 3 on / 1 off / 3 on / 3 off / 4 on / 7 off.....then cycle starts over)

Summary
* Accountable to maintain, monitor, and check all refrigeration and steam related equipment requirements
* Participate in plant equipment repairs and installations
Qualifications / Requirements:
* Second (2nd) Class Stationary certification - Interprovincial / Standardized OR Manitoba
* prior experience with ammonia refrigeration systems an asset
* mechanical knowledge including repair, maintenance and troubleshooting
* knowledge of operation, repair and maintenance of a Natural Gas Fired Steam Boiler system
* familiarity with system-computer interfacing is an asset
* knowledge of PLC systems considered an asset
* Ability to work under pressure and adapt to tight time constraints
* Ability to work in a team and follow safe work practices
* Able to work with little or no supervision and operate with a proactive mindset
* Excellent interpersonal skills and work ethic
Responsibilities:
* Maintain, monitor, check all refrigeration equipment
* Participate in plant equipment repairs and installations
* Interface with necessary departments / staff for corrective action requirements
* Carry out work requests and apply corrective measures utilizing a computerized maintenance system (CMMS)
* Complete preventative maintenance on all powerhouse components, including refrigeration
* Operate in accordance with all health and safety and food safety programs
* Daily checks on boilers and compressors including air compressors, softeners, low water cut-off, blow down mud drum
* Monitor alarms
* Maintain proper pressure and water levels, hot water heat exchangers and heat recovery
* Perform plant rounds (check / record temperatures in all coolers, visual examination of evaporators, check of HVAC room, glycol levels)
* Record necessary details in Shift Engineer log book
* Initial investigation of heating or cooling complaints, either repairing or calling appropriate staff to address
* Safely isolate / pump out coils in case of ammonia leaks
* Monitor packaging and air units
* Check for fire line pressure every shift
* Perform 4 hour fire watch check after hot work
* Deal with emergency crews during service related emergencies such as power outage, fire alarm, evacuation, etc.
* Input Work Orders using the BMS electronic Work Order System
* Follow SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) to mitigate risk associated with moving equipment and parts as part of job
* Other duties as required
