Second Class Power / Stationary Engineer - PERMANENT - continental rotation
PAY: $36.65/hr + $0.40/hr night shift premium
LOCATION: Brandon, Manitoba** (relocation assistance provided)
** second largest city in Manitoba ; population 43,000 with neighboring area increasing it to approx. 150,000
** southern Manitoba, 2.5 hrs from Winnipeg, 1.5 hrs from US border (North Dakota)
SHIFTS: 6:30 to 6:30 continental day / night rotation (2 on / 2 off / 2 on / 3 off) - 14 day rotation
Summary
* Reporting to Deputy Chief Engineer, this position provides shift coverage for the processing plant and is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of the facility.
* Working to facilitate remedial, preventative and predictive maintenance tasks on equipment including: conveyors, boilers, pumps, refrigeration systems, cooling towers, waste water treatment plant, etc.
Qualifications / Requirements:
* Second (2nd) Class Stationary certification - Interprovincial OR Manitoba
* prior experience with ammonia refrigeration systems an asset
* knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) a definite asset
* familiarity with system-computer interfacing is an asset
* knowledge of PLC systems considered an asset
* Superior troubleshooting skills
* Ability to work under pressure and adapt to tight time constraints
* Ability to work in a team and follow safe work practices
* Able to work with little or no supervision and operate with a proactive mindset
Responsibilities:
* Perform regular maintenance duties as the Power House, including HVAC units
* Participate in plant equipment installations
* Interface with necessary contractual and inspection departments for corrective requirements
* Carry out oral and printed work requests
* Apply corrective measures in a timely fashion utilizing computerized maintenance system
* Other duties as required
