Human Resources Staffing Specialist

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Staffing Specialist is an individual contributor role that is responsible for proactively driving the recruiting, selection, hiring and on boarding processes while filling exempt and non-exempt positions.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Recruit, interview, recommend and hire candidates for exempt and non-exempt positions;
- Coordinate and participate in college recruiting and community job fairs;
- Conduct new employee orientations and process new hires;
- Support staffing objectives in Field Operations;
- Act as a liaison for field and Corporate staffing requirements;
- Facilitate hiring managers through understanding and utilizing the staffing process;
- Utilize behavioural interviewing and selection processes;
- Coordinate assessments and evaluation tools;
- Recruit passive talent through various techniques; and
- Participate in designated project work and process improvement initiatives.
Selection Criteria:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business or a related field is required;
- Minimum of five years of recruiting experience utilizing recruiting practices is strongly preferred;
- Individual must have a strong initiative, bias for action and a high sense of urgency;
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks and function in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgement in making decisions that are consistent with the culture of the organization;
- Strong communication skills – verbal, written and presentation;
- Proficient in MS Office suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint);
- Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving skills;
- Individual must have the ability to travel as required;
- Works effectively at all levels within a matrix organization; and
- Individual must be flexible and have the ability to adapt to situational dynamics.
