Technical Oil Services Account Manager - Calgary
Our client is a leader in the global markets of chemical manufacturing and distribution has an immediate opportunity in the Oilfield Chemicals unit for a contributing team player in Calgary, Alberta for a:
Account Manager
The primary role of this position will be to provide sales and service support to existing customer base as required or assigned for the areas of drilling, cementing, production, stimulation and enhanced oil recovery. Reporting to the Sales Manager, the successful candidate will be accountable to:
- Manage critical or complex products requiring high level of client relationship skills to maintain competitive positioning
- Develop, communicate and implement Account Strategies in line with sales growth targets
- Evaluate business opportunity, develop specific customer value propositions and plans for implementation, and sell value added solutions including products, equipment and services
- Develop and negotiate customer contracts
- Implement pricing strategy on a customer level and manage account receivables in territory
- Provide and assess market intelligence
- Input forecasts for assigned customers into the demand planning system
- Support regional and global business and KAM strategy as applicable
- Support the growth initiative by submission and follow up on innovation ideas
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have at minimum an undergraduate degree (BSc Chemistry/BASc Chem Eng/Petrochemical Eng or other related discipline) and at least 7 years experience in technical/sales, 5 years minimum in direct oil services sales with extensive product/market knowledge. Additionally, you will possess the following:
- Excellent Relationship skills – multi-level sales skills throughout the customer’s organization
- Strong selling skills – Lead identification and follow-up, ability to close a sale, presentation, negotiation
- Optimal candidate must be a self starter with proven track record of success
- Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
- Organizational and planning skills
- Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft based programs
- In depth application knowledge of cementing and stimulation a plus
